FREDDY MULINO BETANCOURT: PRECURSOR Y PIONERO DE LA EDUCACIÓN MATEMÁTICA VENEZOLANA

Resumo

El tema central del presente artículo consiste en estudiar el papel que jugó Freddy Mulino Betancourt en el desarrollo de la Matemática y de la Educación Matemática venezolanas, evidenciar sus aportes, así como analizar su tesis doctoral, la primera en esta área de conocimiento realizada por un venezolano. El estudio es de tipo histórico-crítico considerando al autor y su obra dentro del marco de las condiciones y circunstancias de diversos órdenes prevalecientes en la Venezuela de la época. Se toma como referencia el modelo sistémico propuesto por Beyer (2001a, 2001b), ampliado por el mismo autor, el cual ha sido empleado como herramienta de análisis en diversas investigaciones, como por ejemplo, en Malizia y González (2013), González (2014) y Belisario (2015); asimismo se consideró la periodización de la educación matemática venezolana, desde el año 1936 hasta nuestros días, expuesta por Beyer (2010).Palabras clave: Educación Matemática venezolana, Freddy Mulino Betancourt, primera tesis doctoral en Educación Matemática.AbstractThe focus of this article is the study of the role played by Freddy Mulino Betancourt in the development of Venezuelan Mathematics and Mathematics Education, and analyzes his doctoral thesis, the first in this area of knowledge done by a Venezuelan. The study is of historical-critical type considering the author and his work within the framework of the various conditions and circumstances prevailing in Venezuela of that time. It is taken as a reference the systemic model proposed by Beyer (2001a, 2001b), extended by the same author, which has been used as an analytical tool in various investigations, for example, in Malizia y González (2013), González (2014), and Belisario (2015); likewise it is considered the periodization of mathematics education in Venezuela, since 1936 until today, exposed by Beyer (2010).Key words: Venezuelan mathematics education, Freddy Mulino Betancourt, First doctoral thesis in Mathematics Education.
