APORTES RELEVANTES AL EVALUAR EL RENDIMIENTO ESTUDIANTIL DE UNA CARRERA DISEÑADA BAJO EL PERFIL DE COMPETENCIAS DE LA UCV. EXPERIENCIAS ENTRE LOS AÑOS 2009 y 2015

Resumen

La carrera de Ingeniería de Procesos Industriales (IPI) de la Universidad de Central de Venezuela (UCV) lleva un total de 13 semestres formando profesionales. Este tiempo es suficiente desde el punto de vista estadístico, para evaluar el desempeño de esta opción ofrecida por la Facultad de Ingeniería y comparar los resultados en cuanto al número de aprobados, reprobados y abandonos, con otras carreras de corte similar en la facultad y entre los dos periodos iniciales tanto de IPI como del Ciclo Básico. En los actuales momentos la matricula se encuentra ya en alrededor de 1000 alumnos, convirtiéndose en la escuela más numerosa y con mayor crecimiento de estudiantes y dándole al Núcleo “Armando Mendoza” de la FIUCV ubicado en la ciudad de Cagua Edo. Aragua, una importancia significativa dentro de la Universidad. Lo novedoso de la carrera, es que es la primera estructurada bajo un perfil de Educación Basada en Competencias (EBC) y en la cual se trabajan cinco aspectos fundamentales los cuales son: Saber (conocimientos), Saber Hacer (habilidades), Saber Estar (actitudes acordes al entorno), Querer Hacer (motivación) y Poder Hacer (capacidad personal). La nueva labor implica que además de enseñarle al estudiante un conjunto de temas, hay que también acompañarlo a desarrollar las competencias necesarias para un desempeño profesional exitoso. El presente trabajo de investigación, busca analizar y divulgar las estadísticas de rendimiento emitidas por la División de Control de Estudio de la FIUCV observados en la carrera de IPI hasta el semestre 3-2015 (finalizado en octubre de 2016) y compararlos con los resultados obtenidos por los estudiantes del Ciclo Básico de Ingeniería de Cagua y con la etapa profesional de las carreras de Ingeniería Química y Mecánica de la FIUCV que se dictan en la ciudad de Caracas, así como lo relacionado con el número de graduados.Palabras Claves: Ingeniería, Procesos, Industriales, Estadísticas, Rendimiento, Relación.AbstractThe Degree in Industrial Process Engineering (IPI) of the University of Central de Venezuela (UCV) has a total of 13 semesters training professionals.
