DISEÑO DE UN CURSO DE TRADUCCIÓNPARA CARRERAS CIENTÍFICO-TÉCNICAS CASO ESCUELA DE PETRÓLEO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DEL ZULIA

Resumen

presentar el diseño de un curso de traducción del inglés al español a ser implementado como unidad curricular en carreras científico-técnicas, específicamente en la Escuela de Petróleo de la Facultad Ingeniería de LUZ. El desarrollo de esta propuesta responde a las inquietudes manifestadas por los alumnos que cursan las unidades curriculares de Inglés Técnico en la mencionada escuela, con respecto al desarrollo de la estrategia de traducción para lograr una mejor comprensión de los textos de su especialidad. Para lograr el objetivo planteado se desarrolló latécnica de investigación bibliográfica bajo la modalidad de un análisis descriptivo e interpretativo (Alfonso, 1995) de los documentos que versan sobre el diseño de cursos para la enseñanza del Inglés. Al igual que cualquier estrategia pedagógica bien estructurada, esta propuesta está sustentada en los modelos utilizados tanto para el diseño de cursos clásicos-tradicionales como para los modelos recientes. Partiendo de la descripción de los modelos mencionados, se asumen las premisas aportadas por Graves (2000) para el diseño de un curso de inglés, no sólo por considerarlas apropiadas al contexto y al estadio temporal actual sino, porque el conjunto de principios que establece le confierecoherencia y unidad al curso de traducción que se pretende implementar. Finalmente se concluye que esta propuesta de diseño es factible de ser adaptada o adoptada por otras escuelas dentro de la mismafacultad o por otras facultades nacionales o internacionales que adolezcan de las mismas necesidades. The development of this proposalresponses to the requests claimed by students who are enrolled in the curricular units of Technical English of that school, related to the development of translation strategies in order to attain a bettercomprehension of texts related to this career. In order to attain the objective proposed the bibliographic research technique under the interpretative and descriptive analysis (Alfonso, 1995) of the documentsconcerning the design of courses for the teaching of English was applied. As in any pedagogical strategy accurately structured, this proposal is based on the models used both for the design of the classic-traditional courses and for more recent models. Beginning with the description of these models, the premises for the design of English courses by Graves (2000) are assumed, not only for considering them appropriate to the context and present stage but because of the fact that the set of principles established confers coherence and unity to the translation course we try to implement.Finally it is concluded that this design proposal is feasible of being adapted or adopted by other schools from the same faculty or by other national or international faculties which face the same needs.
