Creencias sobre el Contexto Social, Auto Concepto y la Educación Matemática en Estudiantes Chilenos de Enseñanza Secundaria

Resumen

Este estudio tiene dos propósitos. El primer propósito es la adaptación y validación de una Escala de Creencias de estudiantes de enseñanza secundaria. Además de proporcionar un instrumento válido y confiable, este estudio proporciona información sobre el proceso de desarrollo y validación del instrumento, que será útil para el desarrollo y validación de instrumentos similares. El segundo propósito es describir y analizar tipos de creencias matemáticas de los estudiantes de dos primeros y dos terceros años de la enseñanza secundaria de la región de Los Ríos en Chile. La Escala de Creencias se compone de 44 ítems distribuidos en tres sub escalas que abarcan creencias sobre el contexto social, el auto concepto y sobre la educación matemática. Entre los cuatro grupos, los resultados de este estudio evidencian creencias altamente positivas en general destacando la creencia sobre el cumplimiento efectivo del rol del profesor de matemática.
