THE PARABOLIC REBOUND OF A PARTICLE ON A STRAINED STRAIGHT SURFACE

Abstract In the launching of projectiles, everybody describes a parabolic movement concave downwards by the effect of terrestrial gravity, and the trajectory goes from being thrown until it hits a surface. If this is a line, the shock is considered elastic, (coefficient of restitution: e = 1), and the body is assumed as a particle so the angle of incidence can be assumed equal to the rebound; what generates a consistent and known parabolic movement in the cases of: bouncing on a vertical line and on a horizontal line, (idealized at the basic level). But if the rebound occurs on an inclined straight line, the direction of exit is hitherto unknown in the world of classical physics. In this article, we expose the deduction of two equations that allow us to know the direction of departure of a parabolic movement originated because of a rebound on an inclined line, with examples of possible cases. This result is definitive in the objective of allowing the study of the parabolic movements consequent at this level without the study of the amount of movement and the analysis of energy; However, such formulas are a preliminary for the variety of situations that can be generated in the exercise of didactic situations of the basic kinematics, as well as their verification testing.
